Vedic Astrology: What’s Your Real Sun Sign?

real sun sign, style blogger.

I’ve never really been into astrology, possibly because all my life I thought I was a Scorpio and I never really identified with the characteristics of Scorpio other then the sexuality part they are notorious for, but I mean who isn’t sexual? Anyway, a friend of mine referred me to Dayna, a Vedic Astrologer. One of the first things that she mentioned was that I was actually a Libra. What?! Ok. Turns out that Western Astrology is a bit off on their Sun Sign dates. Western Astrology has been using the same start date on the Spring Equinox with Aries on March 21st since Rome fell and are now off 24 days.

In Vedic Astrology the Sun Sign dates start one day later every 72 years because of the earth’s wobbling thru the procession of the polar axis. I’m not really sure what that means, but I think it makes a lot of sense that the position of planets are shifting all the time and are not stagnant.

Astronomically Accurate & Real Sun Sign Dates:

  1. Aries : April 15 – May 14
  2. Taurus : May 15 – June 14
  3. Gemini : June 15 – July 14
  4. Cancer : July 15 – August 16
  5. Leo : August 16 – September 15
  6. Virgo : September 16 – October 16
  7. Libra : October 17 – November 14
  8. Scorpio : November 15 – December 15
  9. Sagittarius : December 16 – January 13
  10. Capricorn : January 14 – February 13
  11. Aquarius : February 14 – March 14
  12. Pisces : March 15 – April 15

Furthermore, what I learned is that your Sun Sign is only the 3rd most important sign and are the traits that you get from your Dad. Your Moon Sign is 2nd most important as it’s more active and is what you get from your Mom. Your Rising or Turning Sign is your most active sign and most important for you. To find your signs you need to know the time you were born and where you were born as everything is measured by your first breath. When you clock into this human world there is a particular vibration and energy field happening and that’s what everything is based on.

Vedic Astrology, also referred to as Hindu, Eastern, or Joytish (inner light) Astrology has the only and most ancient text written on Astrology. When we think of Western Astrology we think of the Greeks and Romans, but the Greeks got their info from India. Western Astrology and American history for that matter typically begins with the Greeks and Romans and they miss thousands of years of interaction. When Rome fell a lot of knowledge was lost and it was the East that kept the knowledge together as they were a continuous civilization. They were sky observers and got their knowledge through inner light as they were enlightened people. I feel like Vedic Astrology is astronomically scientific, not just made up, but you can take it or leave it.

My Reading

I was pretty amazed by the reading and without going into too many details here are some things that I found out. My Sun Sign is Libra, my Moon Sign is Gemini, and my Rising Sign is Taurus. Currently I’m nearing the end of Jupiter, which is a 16 year period and has an overall “happy go lucky” mood. In general you become wiser and more spiritual in Jupiter as you begin to ask the bigger questions in life. More specifically I’m in Jupiter-Rahu which has me in a limbo position. I don’t feel like being social and my career is very unclear right now. Ketu is currently transiting my House of Career and my House of the Public, which for me means that my work and my social life is basically non-exsistent, but change is coming. Soon I will be entering into Saturn, which is more adult and more hard-working, but also fulfilling and rewarding. It’s a 19 year period and has a lot to do with your karma and dharma (your purpose in life). I’m a bit nervous about that, but my career will become clear and stable and it’s a very maturing time, but I’ll always be fun and youthful because of my Gemini Moon Sign. She said that right now I couldn’t force a career if I tried and to enjoy my downtime. Also, she said that more celebrities have Libra as their sun sign and that I would make a great actor or influencer. She said that blogging is a great path for me and that I would be great at informing people about quality things. There’s a ton more, but I won’t get into it all. I actually had 2 calls with her because I was heading to the airport and we had to cut it short. She is really knowledgable and I highly recommend doing a reading with her. It’s true that there are Astrologers with decades of family experience that may be more insightful, but Dayna is really amazing and has allowed me to share her information on my blog. She has really lead a spiritual path and I trust in her.

Your first reading will be about 1.5 hours long and is only $90! It’s so worth it (please know her rates may change). She will send you some recordings, reading material, and your chart prior to your call. I highly recommend that you listen to the recordings before your call so you can go into your call with all the questions you want to ask (I was not so prepared on my first call). You can ask her anything! Also, you get a recording of your conversation and listening back to it is really, really helpful.

Here is her contact info, email her to set something up.

You are absolutely correct! Vedic astrology show the actual true placements of the planets. Western is off by 23-24 degrees. Please everyone be open minded and research for yourself. If you ever wondered why your daily horoscope doesn’t make sense, this is the reason why. I been studying the different divisional charts in Vedic and everything resonates. Vedic Astrology also tape into the psychology of each ascendant and moon sign in particular. The Nakshatras plays a HUGE significance in understanding your life’s karmas

I was born on 7 Dec 1990.. M neither scorpion or Sagittarius in personality traits.. M from India, Bangalore and when I was born I was born under Makan nakshatra Simha rashi.. I believe it’s my moon sign of Leo as compared to western astrology natal birth chart I researched on.. I believe m 13 zodiac sign of serpicotarius as it explains my Aries type explosive anger but it’s short sspan n I don’t hold grudges n forgive and emphasize with humans and animals alike.. I’ve found out m creative and always had this unquenchable thirst for knowledge.

I’m a Cancer Sun and a Sag rising. Saturn is passing over my ascendant right now in Western astrology – is that not happening in Vedic astrology? Vedic doesn’t really resonate with me, but open to learning more, thanks for exploring, Moon. Xoxo
