Smoking Cessation Via Hypnotherapy

It’s pretty hard to admit this, but I was kind of a smoker. I had my first puff in middle school, but I was never a pack-a-day type of person, in fact, a “real smoker” probably wouldn’t have even considered me smoker. I was the casual, social type of smoker. I’d buy loosie’s (single cigs), bum a cig, take a drag here and there, every once in a blue I’d buy pack. I feel like I never really liked smoking all that much, but I would still do it from time to time and, well, we all know it’s a dirty, unhealthy habit. I could go weeks, one time I went a couple months without even a single drag, but something always drew me back in. It got to a point where taking just one drag disgusted me, but I’d still do it! I finally decided it was something wrong with my brain and me being the health and wellness guru that I am (or that I want to be), I had to eliminate it out of my life.

I heard many success stories from people about hypnosis, it even worked on my ex-bf who was a long-term, big time smoker (only for like a month, but still worked nonetheless). I’m the type of person who will try almost anything once, so I decided to give it a go. I set up an appointment with Kristen at Sasha Carrion and I’ve been smoke and drag free for almost 6 weeks. I know that’s not that long, but I truly do think it worked. I’ve been in many situations when I would have normally had a cig and it was pretty easy not to.

Hypnosis works by tapping into your subconscious. It’s like reprogramming the hard drive of your brain and making all the negative crap you somehow acquired disappear. This negative programing usually happens when we are kids and teenagers while our brains are still developing, could be from parents, teachers, movies, almost anything really. The Smoking Cessation program was $500 and consisted of 2 in-person sessions and 1 phone session. Kristen also checked in from time to time for support which really helped. Also, you get recordings of the sessions so you can play them back whenever you want.

I’m going to continue to see Kristen for some other things that I want to work on as well. It was really great working with her and I like her hypnosis voice (she’s also a meditation instructor). Here are some other things you can achieve through hypnosis:

I am a cigar smoker! Now with that said let me share. I have smoke cigars for over 30 years three four day my stress level is at 0 has been for years! As you stated for myself in this type of therapy I have learned that is eye drawing because you never inhale with cigar that I Savor the flavor I understand the complexity of it, then as I exhale I release all that burdens from that day to the the sun to to be burned and fuel positive healing light. You should try it sometime! Have an amazing day!

Wow ! I never would have thought you were a smoker. I’m glad you’ve kicked the habit and now reap the benifits of not poluting your lungs amoung other things.

I really don’t believe in hypnosis. My main reason is because it works on tricking the mind. I just think that all you really need is hard work ? and a plan. There no easy answers, just answers. Then again if it works for you, good job and best wishes. I just randomly found this blog and have no reason to comment but bored at work.

Re – yesterday’s question . I can think of one blogger who attracts a larger proportion of female followers – Arika Sato. Her blog focuses on the process of style / beauty, including more make-up and clothes, while I think your blog focuses on what is a more finished (and frankly comfortable and confident) style. Just my 2c
